Because of the high-.production value of the documentary, many cross-promotional possibilities exist. For instance, the publisher may choose to include the DVD of the documentary with the book. The movie may also be distributed as a separate product, thus appealing to a different audience. Those reading the book may wish to observe the longer interviews that are intertwined within the book. Those watching the documentary may wish to purchase the book to read how the different points weave into the fable.
Thus, the documentary will support the book in ways that traditional marketing cannot. The visual attractiveness of the documentary will reach an audience that is not searching for books in the business sections of their bookstores |
